"Ol' Bob"

Age 80 of Channahon and formerly Morris, passed away Saturday morning November 9, 2013 at Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet.

Born November 13, 1932 in Utica, Illinois, Bob was a son of the late John Sylvester and Catherine Ann Neary-Waters. He was raised and educated in Utica and worked for Metro Rubber in Morris until its closing. Bob was a member of Living Stones Community Church in Channahon, the Morris Moose Lodge, the National Rifleman's Association and was active with the Channahon Lion's Club. He was a great animal lover who was active in animal rescue and volunteered at Cross Roads Animal Hospital. Bob was a tremendous supporter of the Salvation Army and Paralyzed Veteran's, and actively assisted on a regular basis with Living Manna Food Pantry. He enjoyed his plants, birds and appreciated wildlife as a whole. Bob took pleasure in woodworking, and leaves behind many of his handcrafted clocks and shelves. Bob loved making people laugh and his enthusiasm for Christmas and the holidays will be remembered from his many engagements as Santa in Morris and at PetSmart over the past years.

Survivors include his wife Rosie, whom he married February 14, 1987; eight children: Jackie Meyers (Larry Mann) and Barb (J.R.) Brown, both of Morris, Christine (Curtis) Crumb and Robert Waters, Jr., both of Channahon, John (Cheryl) Waters of North Dakota, Laurie (Royce) Spencer of Virginia, Laurie (Tim) Smith of Morris and Julie (Bob) Watts of Wilmington; thirteen grandchildren: Tammie Myers, Dawn (John) Bitter, Eric (Jill) Rodriguez, Shanna Ramsey, Heath Waters, Jarrod (Kristina) Clausel, Ashley (Ron) Forsyth, Jessica Stiles, Stephanie Rose Yedinak, Savannah Gornik, Nikki Watts, Melissa Unland and Kristina Unland; (20) great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; one granddaughter Honey Rae Waters (2012) and his special aunt Adele Cochran.

The family will receive friends at Living Stones Community Church, 25124 South Fryer Street in Channahon on Wednesday November 13, 2013 from 9:30AM until time of funeral service 12:00 Noon. Pastor Joe Pospischil will officiate and burial will follow in Willard Grove Cemetery, Channahon.

Pallbearers will be: Jarrod Clausel, Eric Rodriguez, Curtis Crumb, J.R. Brown, Dave Link and Dave Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be: Jesse Lewis, Wyatt Rodriguez and Schyler Matney.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Bob's memory to Living Stones Community Church or to Cross Roads Animal Hospital.
