Age 89 of Wilmington, passed away Tuesday Morning December 7, 2010 at home with family at his bedside. Born April 26, 1921 in Lynchburg,TN to the late Everett Peyton & Mabel Lee (Gregory) Reavis also preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters. Survived by his loving wife Juanita Jane (Allott) Reavis, two dear children Dennis (Leinie Grace) Reavis of Wilmington and Gayle Ann Reavis of Crescent City; two grandchildren Gregory and Daphne. Former employee of Texaco Cities-Service Pipeline Co. (Wilmington Station) retiring after 36 years as an electrician. Member of the First United Methodist Church Wilmington, former City of Wilmington council member and Wilmington School Board member. Past President of the Wilmington Rotary Club. Veteran of the US Navy during WW II serving in the Pacific Theater. His ship the USS Pamina was present at the surrender of Japan at Tokyo Bay. Visitation Thursday December 16, 2010 from 12:00PM until time of Memorial services at 1:00PM at First United Methodist Church of Wilmington. Interment at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery with military honors and color guard by the US Navy. In lieu of flowers memorials to the church or The ARC of Iroquois County Would be appreciated .
