"Bob"

Age 72 of Wilmington, passed away Saturday August 28, 2010 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home in Joliet.

Born November 9, 1937 in Marseilles, Bob was a son of the late Delbert R. and Elizabeth Meagher-Latimer. He attended both Booth Central and Saint Rose elementary schools and later graduated with the first graduating class of the new Wilmington High School in 1955. Following his education, Bob's employment included working as a milk man for Weber Dairy in Joliet, managing a bowling alley, as well as RTM's Pub in Wilmington, he drove a truck for Celotex in Wilmington, and later owned and operated The Corner Bar in Wilmington for 15 years. In his spare time, Bob loved to go White Bass fishing and he was also an avid golfer. He was a member of the Wilmington Moose Lodge and a former member of the A.F. & A.M.

Survivors include his wife: Sandra; four daughters: Deborah (Duane) Kane and Patricia (Terry) Smith, both of Wilmington, Michele (Jack) Thompson of Greenway, Arkansas and Theresa Haskins of Godley; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; three sisters: Joanne (late Gordon) Reid of Hampshire, Mary "Geri" (late Bill) Black of Reddick, Loretta "Lori" (Kevin) Senior of Wilmington and two brothers: Eugene (Sue) Latimer of Wilmington and John (Peggy) Latimer of Morris.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Robert "Robbie" Latimer.

The family will receive friends on Friday September 3, 2010 from 9:00AM until time of memorial service 11:00AM at Reeves Funeral Home, 219 North Joliet Street (two blocks north of Illinois Route 53/Baltimore Street) in Wilmington.

Preferred memorials in lieu of flowers may be made as gifts in Bob's memory to the American Cancer Society.
