ROBERT WALLACE NOLAN
Age 84 of Braidwood formerly of Diamond & Wilmington, passed away Friday July 10, 2009 at his daughter's home with family at his side. Born April 18, 1925 in Chicago to the late Robert Walter & Ellen Mae (Duncan) Nolan, also preceded in death by his wife Mary Jane (Alstott) 2004, an infant son Dale Robert and two sisters Ellen Placek and Jean Warner. Survived by his loving children Toni (Gary) Blessing of Morris, Gary Nolan of Arizona, Joyce (Gary) Williams of Braidwood and Nancy (Doug) Rowley of Pontiac; Ten Grandchildren; Twelve Great Grandchildren. A Veteran of WW II serving with the US Navy Seabees Detachment #1030. Retired in 1987 after 35 years with the Joliet Arsenal (Uniroyal). Member of Musicians Union Local # 37, Joliet LOOM Lodge #300. Robert played and sang in several bands throughout his life including being co-leader of the Bob Anthony Quartet. Visitation Thursday July 16, 2009 from 5 to 8PM at the Freitag Funeral Home Wilmington and also on Friday July 17, 2009 from 10AM until time of services at 12:00 Noon at the funeral home. Inurnment at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery at 1PM with U.S. Navy presenting military honors. In lieu of flowers memorials to the Alzheimer's Disease Research Fondation would be appreciated.
