Robert Lee Johnson, 79, of Morris, passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at Indiana University Hospital North in Carmel, Indiana.
Born March 26, 1943 in Morris, he was the son of Lewis and Charlotte (Stangland) Johnson. He graduated from Morris Community High School with the class of 1961 and graduated from the first Agribusiness class at JJC in 1966. He married Barbara Phillips on March 11, 1967 at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Morris. For all of their married life they farmed in Saratoga Township.
He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara of 55 years; two children, LeighAnn (Terry) Boehme of Carmel, Indiana and Katie Neushwander of Ludington, MI; four grandchildren, Bella and Christina Boehme and Kennedy and Neela Neushwander; one sister, Carol (Andrew) Wagner of Oconomowoc, WI.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church, Grundy County Farm Bureau where he served as vice president for several years, served as vice president of the Grundy County Republicans, trustee on Saratoga Township Board and member of the Corn Growers Association.
Memorials may be given to Arbor Day Foundation, Grundy County Farm Bureau Scholarship Fund or Grace Lutheran Church.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 1, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at the Grace Lutheran Church with Pastor Steve Cook officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Fruland Funeral Home, 121 W. Jefferson St. in Morris.
