Robert William Haldorson
Age 80 of Morris, passed away Monday, February 4, 2013 at Walnut Grove in Morris.
Born August 29, 1932 in Coal City, Bob was a son of the late Charles and Gertrude Howard-Haldorson. He was raised and educated in the Coal City, Carbon Hill and Wilmington areas, and graduated from Wilmington High School. On January 6, 1951, Bob married Genevieve Milton in Signal Hill, California and she preceded him on January 31, 2013. Bob served in the United States Naval Reserves and worked for Federal Paper Board. Most recently he held employment as a Baliff with the Grundy County Sheriff's Office, and this was a position in which he greatly enjoyed. Bob was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Morris, and he belonged to the Knights of Columbus. He will be remembered for his love of family and especially his grandchildren, which he adored.
Survivors include his daughter Brenda (Daniel) Miner of Purcellville, Virginia; three grandchildren: Ryan (Molly) Rozich of Austin, Texas, Logan Miner of Vienna, West Virginia and Natalie Miner of Purcellville; one great granddaughter Sloane Elizabeth Rozich and brothers and sisters: Alice Wills, Helen Jensen, Lucille Quayle, Betty Panish, June (Leroy) Hedgecock and Ralph (Lela) Haldorson, and sisters-in-law: Betty Haldorson, Phyllis Haldorson and Margaret Haldorson, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; son Dr. Robert Haldorson; wife Genevieve; brothers: Howard, Charles, Raymond, John , Clyde and George and sister Elsie Skubic.
Visitation and Video Tribute for Bob and Genevieve will be held on Tuesday February 5, 2013 between the hours of 4:00PM and 8:00PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 408 East Washington Street (one block East of Illinois Route 47) in Morris. Funeral services will follow Wednesday February 6th at 10:00AM in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 516 East Jackson Street, Morris, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Reverend Ed Howe, CR officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Morris.
Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Bob's memory to Immaculate Conception Building Fund, 516 East Jackson Street, Morris, Illinois 60450.
