Robert Ginter

Robert L. Ginter, late of Elwood, passed away suddenly Thursday April 15, 2010 at Silver Cross Medical Center in Joliet.

Born November 17, 1940 in Joliet, Robert was a son of the late George and Lois (nee Moldt) Ginter. After high school graduation Robert joined the US Air Force, from where he retired after 20 years. He then worked in maintenance at Equistar Corp. in Morris until retiring in 1999.

Survivors include seven children: Donna Ginter of Champaign, Robert (Eileen) Ginter and Michael (Martha) Ginter both of Elwood, David Ginter of Channahon and John Ginter, Lori (David) Greenback and Keri (Chuck) Simpson, all of Elwood; Nine grandchildren: Christina, Amber, Jeff, Josh, Wyatt, Nicole, Sarah, Tina and Taryn, and one sister Patricia Buchenau of Elwood.

Robert was preceded by his wife Jane, his parents, and 1 sister Jackie West.

Robert's wishes to be cremated have been accorded and a private interment with full military honors will take place at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.

Memorials to the Manhattan Fire Department in Robert's memory, would be greatly appreciated.
