Robert A. Gagnon

Age 62 of Coal City, passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at his home.

Born June 21, 1954 in Chicago, Robert Armand was a son of the late Armand Paul and Dorothy (Cosgrove) Gagnon. He was raised in Chicago, attended Kennedy High School and went on to honorably serve in the United States Air Force.  Robert was a member of Teamsters Local 710, and worked as a truck driver, retiring from ABF Trucking. He was a member of the Coal City American Legion Post #796, Sons of the American Legion and American Legion Riders. Robert enjoyed fishing, the outdoors, football and hockey. He thought the world of his grandchildren and cherished spending time with his family.

Survivors include four children: Rob (Alyssa) Hicks of Coal City, Robert (Crystal) Gagnon of Alsip and Cody (Jessica) Hicks and Dakota Gagnon, both of Coal City; grandchildren: Adam, Ayden, Amelia, Jeremy, Alex, Cole, Lilly and Jack; one brother John, and three sisters: Mary, Colette and Helen, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents and wife Dawn on September 15, 2016.

Visitation and video tribute will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block north of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City. Graveside services with full military honors will follow Wednesday morning, December 28th at 10:30 a.m. in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood. Family and friends wishing to attend the cemetery services are asked to assemble at the funeral home at 9:00 a.m. to leave in procession at 9:30 a.m.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Robert's memory to his family for their distribution.
