Age 77, of Wilmington, Illinois, died Sunday, March 9, 2025 at his home.
Born on October 20, 1947, in Kankakee, Illinois, Robert Clarence was the son of Robert Eisenhour and Elsie Bierce. He was raised and educated in Wilmington, and graduated from Wilmington High School with the Class of 1965. On December 9, 1965 Robert married the love of his life, Karen Sheridan at the First Christian Church in Wilmington. Together, they would make their home in Wilmington where they raised their family.
Robert dedicated over 30 years of his career as an electrician at Caterpillar in Joliet, Illinois, before transitioning to a role in maintenance at Joliet Junior College where he worked for several years. He enjoyed fishing at Kentucky Lake in Tennessee, riding his motorcycle, and keeping up with his granddaughter’s activities. Robert was a devoted family man who was well known for his strong work ethic and his capability to love.
He is survived by his loving wife, Karen, and one son, Robert (Takeyra) Eisenhour; three grandchildren: Michael Eisenhour, Gabriella (Ian) Bastian, Jackson Eisenhour; and one great grandchild, Henry Lee Bastain.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Erika Lee Eisenhour; sister, Sharon (William) Hill; and his mother and father-in-law: Wanda (Frank) Sheridan and John Lauer.
Per his wishes cremation rites are being accorded and a celebration of Robert's life will be held at a later date.
Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Bob's memory to the Wilmington Lions Club, PO Box 662 Wilmington IL 60481.
