Robert A. Dirker
Age 67 of Morris, passed away unexpectedly on Monday March 14, 2016 at Morris Hospital.
Born August 22, 1948 in Joliet, Robert Alan was a son of Albert Earl and the late Shirley Marie Carter-Dirker. He was raised in Morris; attended Goose Lake Grade School and graduated from Coal City High School with the class of 1966. Robert served in the United States Army for three years, including one year in Vietnam. Following his military service, he was employed by Caterpillar Tractor Company in Joliet until he retired. He enjoyed being a part of a local bowling league and going to farm sales.
Survivors include his father: A. Earl Dirker of Morris; three brothers: William Dirker and Richard Dirker, both of Morris, and Daniel (Sue) Dirker of DeKalb; one aunt: Ethel Togliatti of Las Vegas, Nevada; and three cousins: James (Cathy) Heavens of Dyersville, Iowa, Kenneth Campbell of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Virginia Walsh of Morris.
Robert was preceded in death by his mother: Shirley Marie Dirker on March 11, 2003.
Visitation will be Friday, March 18, 2016 between the hours of 4:00 and 7:00 p.m. at Reeves Funeral Home, 408 East Washington Street, in Morris. Funeral services will follow on Saturday, March 19, 2016, 10:00 a.m., in Immaculate Conception Church, 600 East Jackson Street, Morris. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Reverend Ed Howe, CR officiating. Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Morris.
