Robert Carter Bruno

Age 58 of Wilmington, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, February 19, 2009 at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet. Born August 19, 1951 in Chicago, Robert was a son of the late Robert and Blanche Ruzicka - Bruno. He was raised and educated in Chicago and on June 28, 1988 Robert married Laura Borkowski in Madison, Wisconsin. Together they have lived in Wilmington for the past 13 years. Robert was a Vietnam Veteran and served his country for ten years in the United States Army.

Survivors include his wife: Laura and one son Ronald Bruno, both of Wilmington; four sisters; one sister-in-law: Lynn Hejka; his father-in-law: Ronald Borkowski of Crest Hill and numerous nieces & nephews.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents; one brother and his mother-in-law: Juliann Borkowski.

Visitation will be held on Monday February 23, 2009 between the hours of 2:00PM and 7:00PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 219 North Joliet Street (two blocks North of Illinois Route 53 / Baltimore Street) in Wilmington.

Graveside services will follow on Tuesday February 24, 2009 at 10:15AM from the funeral home in procession to Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, where military honors will be performed at 11:00AM.

Preferred memorials in lieu of flowers may be made as gifts in Robert's memory to the American Heart Association.
