Age 72 of Coal City, passed away Wednesday evening, June 20, 2007, surrounded by his family.

Born June 25, 1934 in Marseilles, Illinois, Bob was a son of the late Leslie William Blaine and Mildred L. (Henry) Burkett-Klauck. He was raised and educated in Morris and graduated with the Morris High School Class of 1952. On June 04, 1955, Bob married Joan Funk in the Coal City United Methodist Church and together they lived their entire married life in Coal City. Bob was a veteran of the US Army and was stationed in Germany from 1957-1958. He was employed by the Joliet Arsenal and later UniRoyal, where he retired from as a foreman/manager after over 40 of service. Bob was a member of Coal City United Methodist Church for over 50 years, where he taught Sunday School, Member of Lodge #704 of the AF & AM at Braidwood, was the first president of the Coal City High School Athletic Boosters, was a former Coal City Commissioner, Member of the Coal City Fire Department and Coal City Emergency Squad and member and past secretary of the Joliet Arsenal Sportsman. In his free time Bob enjoyed fishing, hunting and NASCAR, but most of all being a Dad and Grandfather.

Survivors include his wife Joan; two sons: Robert E. Blaine, Jr. (Linda Wills) and Joseph (Susan) Blaine, both of Coal City; six grandchildren: Katie-Lynn (Jim) Ludes and Leslie Blaine of Coal City, Robyn Blaine of Auburn, New York, Matthew Blaine of Coal City, Tiffani Smith of Gainesville, Georgia and Justin "J.T." Blaine of Coal City. Five great grandchildren: Gabriel Ludes, Dylan Ludes, Camryn Stinson, Conner Blaine and Austin Smith; two sisters: Doryce "Bena" (the late William) Scharman of Palm Bay, Florida and Betty Watson of Eldora, Iowa; one sister-in-law Delores Provance of Diamond; one brother-in-law Richard (Barbara) Funk of Morris and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; step-father Henry Klauck, one sister Doris Burkett and one brother-in-law Ivan Provance.

Visitation and Video Tribute will be held on Sunday June 24, 2007 between the hours of 4:00PM and 8:00PM with Masonic service at 7:30PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block North of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City. Bob will then lie in state Monday June 25th from 9:30AM until time of funeral services 10:30AM at the Coal City United Methodist Church, 6805 East McArdle Road in Coal City. Dr. Thomas Logsdon will officiate and burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Wilmington.

Preferred memorials as gift's in Bob's memory may be extended to Coal City United Methodist Church, 6805 East McArdle Road, Coal City, Illinois 604016 or Grundy Community Volunteer Hospice, 1802 North Division Street, Suite #222, Morris, Illinois 60450.
