Rick Mansfield
Age 64 of Coal City, passed away Sunday, September 25, 2016 at Morris Hospital.
Born April 2, 1952 in Joliet, Richard LeRoy was a son of Raymond and Zella (Hansford) Mansfield. He was raised and educated in Joliet and Aurora, and on June 24, 1972, Rick married Patricia Petty in Mazon. He was retired from Caterpillar Tractor Company in Joliet after 35 years of service, and will be remembered for his love of golf, playing the guitar, sports and car racing.
Survivors include his wife Pat; two daughters: Tamra Mansfield of Brentwood, Missouri and Christina Mansfield of Coal City; two sisters: Eva Mae Werry and Mary Lue (John) Nortrup; two sisters-in-law: Norma Williams and Mary Lou Williams, and many nieces and nephews.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers: Ray Mansfield, Jr., Ralph W. Williams, Dean Williams and Roy Williams, and one nephew Randy Countryman.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. until time of funeral service 4:00 p.m. at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block north of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City. Rick's nephew, Pastor Kyle Stachewicz will officiate.
Cremation rites will be accorded following the services, and Rick will be laid to rest at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood on Friday, September 30, 2016.
Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Rick's memory to Guide Dogs for the Blind or to his family for distribution to local charities of their choosing.
