Richard E. Yanketis

Age 77 of Reddick and formerly of Pennsylvania, passed away Tuesday morning, February 2, 2016 at Park Pointe in Morris.

Born October 16, 1938 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Richard Edward was a son of the late Edward Richard and Amelia (Blazek) Yanketis. He worked in security at Commonwealth Edison for many years and retired from Brownie Products in Gardner in 2003. Richard enjoyed fishing, and took great pleasure in spending time with his late wife and grandchildren.

Survivors include his children: Rhonda Deary of Finleyville, PA and Richard Yanketis of Eighty Four, PA; step-children: Reno (Tina) Vignocchi of Coal City, Rena Vignocchi (Jon Sprimont) and Gina Vignocchi, both of Reddick and Jeff (Jonathan Bast) Yack of Elgin; (11) grandchildren: Shawna, Justin, Alexis, Evan, Jenny (Adam), Julie (Sam), Rachel (Brian), Brittany (Richard), Matthew, Andrew and Melanie; (9) great grandchildren; two sisters: Sandy (Danny) Hock and Barbara Ann (Ron) Herbster, both of PA; sister-in-law Ann Lafferty of Dwight; several nieces and nephews; his dear close friends Dale and Annette, and his loyal constant companion Snowy.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents and wife Catherine "Kay" Yanketis on August 4, 2014.

Cremation rites have been accorded and a private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
