Richard L. Ward

Richard L. Ward, 59, of Dwight, passed away Saturday, March 5, 2022 at the Morris Hospital.
Born March 3, 1963 in Morris, he was the son of Jerry and Gloria (Peterson) Ward. He was a humorous person who can make people laugh even as a child. He graduated from Morris Community High School in 1982. He worked at various jobs until 1991.
He is survived by his father, Jerry L. Ward and sister, Pamela J. Milton both of Dwight; his uncle, John LeRoy Claypool of Morris; several nieces and nephews; his faithful dog, Sammy.
Preceding him in death were his mother, Gloria in 2019; both sets of grandparents, Silas and Bernice Peterson and Donald and Mardelle Ward; brother-in-law, Jerry M. Milton Sr; 3 aunts and 3 uncles; 2 grand nieces in infancy.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 12, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fruland Funeral Home, 121 W. Jefferson St. in Morris with Pastor Deborah Jungmi Kang officiating. Interment will follow in Saratoga Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
