"Dick"

Age 79 of Coal City, passed away Sunday evening, December 3, 2006 at Morris Hospital.

Born December 13, 1926 in Coal City, Dick was a son of the late Willis and Dorothy (Spellman) Tarman. He was raised and educated in Coal City and graduated with the Coal City High School Class of 1944. Dick served with the US Navy during WWII and also served with the US Marines. On August 05, 1972 Dick married Lynne "Dee Dee" Wendell in Manhattan and he worked as an electrician with Uniroyal prior to his retirement in 1988. After retiring Dick and Dee Dee moved to Florida for 13 years before returning back to Coal City in 2001. Dick was a lifetime member of the VFW and the Mazon American Legion and enjoyed watching baseball.

Survivors include his loving wife Lynne "Dee Dee" Tarman of Coal City; three sons: Larry (Susan) Tarman and Bill (Tina) Tarman, both of Coal City and Robert (Gail) Tarman of Wilmington; one daughter Laura (Tony) Esparza of Coal City; twelve grandchildren: Matt, Aimee, Luke, Lisa, Bob, Tony, Amy, Sandy, Alex, Billy, Tara and Christopher; six great grandchildren; three sisters: Wilma Davy and Faye (Melvin) Dearth, both of Coal City and Betty (Bill) Minck of Lebanon, Ohio. Two sisters-in-law: Mary Pat (Ken) Mack and Rita Tarman and one brother-in-law Tom (Helen) Wendell, all of Coal City, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Bob Tarman and one brother-in-law Elvin Davy.

Visitation and video tribute will be held on Tuesday December 5, 2006 between the hours of 4:00PM and 8:00PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block North of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City. Dick will then lie in state on Wednesday December 6th from 9:30AM until time of funeral service 10:30AM at Coal City United Methodist Church, 6805 East McArdle Road in Coal City. Dr. Thomas Logsdon will officiate and a funeral luncheon in the church will immediately follow the services.

A private family interment will follow in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood and Dick's grandchildren will act as pallbearers.
