Richard Jay Murphy

Age 62 of Tucson,AZ formerly of Flossmoor,IL passed away March 15, 2010. Born October 27, 1947 in Ann Harbor, Michigan to the late Waldo Richard and Mary (Cooper) Murphy, also preceded in death by his wife Carole Leigh Murphy and step sister Nan Googe. Survived by his loving son Jay (Katina) Murphy of Tucson and two grandchildren Jaydn and Jayce; two sisters Mary Lynn Murphy of Florida and Margaret Ramtin of Deerfield, IL ; two nephews Ryan and Nick Ramtin; Step mother Nancy Murphy of Wisconsin; former wife Dian Alderman of Illinois; half brother Robert (Gail) Murphy of Alpharetta, GA; two step brothers George (Edie) Bisbee of Egg Harbor,WI and Terry (Patty) Bisbee of Littleton,CO; brother in law to Roger Googe of Jackson,MS and several nieces and nephews; two dear friends Jeff Melcher of AZ and Roger Freitag of Wilmington, IL. Veteran of Viet Nam serving with the 82nd Airbourne/Special Forces Group from 1968 to 1971. Graduate of St. John's Military Academy Wisconson, Marion Military Institute Alabama and attended Iowa University. Over forty years of resort sales from Michigan to California. A gathering of family and friends on Friday June 4, 2010 at the Freitag Funeral Home Wilmington, IL from 11:00AM until time of services at 12:00 Noon. Interment to follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery Elwood, IL at 1:00PM with full military honors by the U.S. Army. In lieu of flowers memorials to the charity of choice.
