Richard G. Hansen
"Bootsy"
Age 77 of Wilmington, passed away Thursday May 17, 2012 at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet.
Born February 18, 1935 in Indiana, Richard was a son of the late Charles and Frances James-Hansen. He was raised in Wilmington and on October 9, 1954, Bootsy married Mary Ann Camus in Wilmington. He will be remembered for being a NASCAR enthusiast and greatly enjoyed watching the races.
Survivors include his loving wife of 57 years: Mary Hansen; two children: Diana Meyer and Rick (Becky) Hansen; seven grandchildren: Alicia (Robert) Bolser, Michael (Kori) Hansen, Curtis (Colleen) Hansen, Jeremy (Kim) Durham, T.J. (Krista) Hansen, Brad Meyer and Nick (Deanna) Hansen; nine great grandchildren: Brock, Isabel, McKenzie, Kylie, Kody, Olivia, Ella, Carsyn and Mason; one brother Robert Hansen and two sisters: Lorene Bales and Janice Lafoon; two brothers-in-law Robert Camus and Richard Camus; one sister-in-law June Smith and numerous nieces and nephews, as well as special friends: Bill Smid and Denny Meyer.
Bootsy was preceded in death by his parents: Charles and Frances Hansen; one son James Glen Hansen; brothers: Henry, Earl, Elzie and Pee-Wee and two great grandsons: Caden and Connor.
Cremation rites have been accorded and there will be no services. A private inurnment will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Wilmington at a later date.
Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Bootsy's memory to Kuzma Care Cottage, 635 South Main Street, Wilmington, Illinois 60481.
