Reverend Clifford Sage

Age 70 of Gardner, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday morning, September 28, 2014, at his home following a long illness.

Born April 14, 1944 in Kildav, Kentucky, Clifford was a graduate of Evarts High School and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a retired machinist with 41 years of service at Caterpillar Tractor Co. and worked for Fisher Auto. Reverend Sage was a member of the American Evangelical Christian Churches and served as an assistant pastor at the Wilmington Church of God.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Sue Eldridge Sage; three children, Christopher Wayne (Gail) Sage of Closplint, KY; Lisa Renee Sage (Rick) of Ottawa and Lori Ann Sage of Manhattan; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a sister, Barbara Scott of Hopkinsville, KY; three brothers: Kenneth (Mary Lee) Sage of Wilmington, Marty (Alice) Sage of Kildav, KY and Donnie (Marandi) Sage of Harlan, KY, and a brother-in-law, Ronnie Clark of Kildav, as well as a host of other family and friends.

Clifford was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Tyler Sage and Wealthy Edith Messer Sage, and a sister Linda Clark.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday October 1, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the King's Chapel in Lejunior, Kentucky. Funeral services will follow Thursday, October 2, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. in the Church with the Reverend Janice Fulkerson officiating.

Burial will be in the Evarts Memorial Gardens with military rites provided by the Harlan Honor Guard. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
