Reba Cresong

Age 74 of Hickory Hills, Illinois, died Monday, October 9, 2023 at the Lightways Hospice Home in Joliet, Illinois.

Born March 3, 1949 in Michigan, Reba Gay was the daughter of Lewis and Blanche (Kocian) Shaver. She was raised in Palos Hills and married the late Roy Edward Cresong, who preceded her in death in 1993.

Reba a was a lifelong caregiver and she was dedicated, long-time member of Jesus Name Pentecostal Church in Hickory Hills. Reba’s selfless attitude and her love for people were defining traits, and her love of God and family was the most important thing in her life.

Survivors include her son, Roy (Melissa) Cresong of Wilmington, Illinois; one brother, Dale (the late Pam) Shaver of Hickory Hills, Illinois; her nieces and nephew: Theresa, Timothy, Chrissy, and Michelle, and their children; and her dear friends Brenda Bodell and Barb Braithwaite.

Reba was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Blanche, and her husband, Roy.

The family will receive friends for a visitation on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road, in Wilmington from 10:00 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 12:00 p.m. Burial will immediately follow at Oakwood Sunset Cemetery in Wilmington.
