Raymond Kendra
Age 74 of Diamond, formerly of Oak Lawn, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Park Pointe Healthcare in Morris.
Born December 4, 1942, in Chicago, Raymond Martin was the son of the late Martin and Sophie (Ciesielczyk) Kendra. He was raised and educated in the West Lawn neighborhood of Chicago; graduated from Kelly High School with the class of 1960, and went on to honorably serve in the United States Navy. On September 11, 1971, Raymond married Nancy Kowalski in Chicago. He owned and operated Triangle Labels until retirement. After retirement Raymond and Nancy became snow birds and enjoyed their winter months at their vacation home in Gold Canyon, Arizona.
Raymond’s two main passions were antiquing and cheering on his beloved Chicago White Sox.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years Nancy; brother-in-law: Raymond (Linda) Kowalski of Frankfort; numerous nieces and one nephew.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be Monday, February 27, 2017 between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block north of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 28th, at 10:00 a.m. in Assumption Parish – Berst Center, 150 South Kankakee Street in Coal City. A Mass of Christian Burial will be presided by Reverend Robert Noesen. Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, 7201 Archer Road in Justice.
