Raymond W. Byers, Jr.

Age 81 of Morris, formerly Coal City, passed away Sunday July 17, 2016 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home.

Born October 19, 1934 in Morris, Raymond or "Buster" was the son of Raymond W. Byers, Sr. and Gwendolyn L. (Meredith-Byers) Ulivi. He was raised in Coal City and graduated from Coal City High School. Raymond served honorably in the United States Army, and was self-employed in the logging industry. He will be remembered for his love of boating and the outdoors, his generous spirit and his sense of humor.

Survivors include his three children: Susan (John) Groves of Austin, Texas, Cynthia Byers of White Plains, New York and Michael (Angela) Byers of Bixby, Oklahoma; four grandchildren: Lauren and Anna Groves, and Alannah and Lindsey Byers; one sister: June (Don) Berta of Orange Park, Florida; his companion and friend: Mary Scaman of Morris and many nieces and nephews.

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Linda (Ulivi) Shain and by his stepfather, Paul Ulivi.

Cremation rites have been accorded.
