Phyllis Ann Dennis
Age 70 of Wilmington, passed away suddenly Monday November 12, 2007 at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet.
Born July 25, 1937 in Pontiac, Phyllis was a daughter of the late Theodore and Myrtle Bockman-Becker. She was a degreed R.N. and was a partner with her husband Bill in the Wilmington and South Wilmington Super Valu Stores. Phyllis was a member of Saint Rose Catholic Church in Wilmington, where she held numerous church affiliations and was a Eucharistic Minister. Phyllis along with Bill was a great benefactor to Saint Rose School and the Wilmington Public Schools, and in her free time she enjoyed reading, spending time with her grandchildren and traveling the world.
Survivors include her husband Bill; six sons: Greg (Venita) Dennis of Wilmington, Ted (Cindy) Dennis of Lockport, Chuck (Jennie) Dennis of Bloomington, Marty (Machiko) Dennis of Gurnee, Matt (Addie) Dennis of Wilmington and Tony (Amanda) Dennis of Indiana. Eleven grandchildren: Christopher, Jonathon, Elizabeth, Timothy, Michael, Laura, Tommy, Sammy, Taylor, Zoe and Yuma; one brother Earl (Lois) Becker of Georgia; one sister Shirley Becker of Odell; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Mary Helen (Ike) Goetsch of Texas, Jim (the late Joan) Dennis of Taylorville, Chris (the late Richard) Beebe of Pontiac, Tim (Susan) Dennis of Lake Bluff, John Dennis of Bloomington and Paulette (Mark) Killian of Towanda.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents and one sister Maxine Fender
Visitation will be held on Thursday November 15, 2007 between the hours of 4:00PM and 8:00PM and Friday November 16th from 9:00AM until 9:30AM at Reeves Funeral Home, 219 North Joliet Street (two blocks North of Illinois Route 53 / Baltimore Street) in Wilmington. Funeral services will follow Friday at 10:00AM in Saint Rose Catholic Church in Wilmington, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Rev. Steve Bondi and Deacon Don Dyer officiating.
Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Wilmington.
Preferred memorials in lieu of flowers may be made as gifts in Phyllis' memory to Kuzma Care Cottage or Saint Rose School Tuition Fund.
