Phyllis Ann Casey (nee Cupples)
Age 81 of Ottawa and formerly of Wilmington, passed away Tuesday morning March 18, 2014 at Ottawa Pavilion.
Born April 28, 1932 in Ottawa, Phyllis was a daughter of the late Roy and Eva Oster-Cupples.  She was raised and educated in Ottawa until 1942, where with the beginning of WWII she moved with her family to Wilmington.  Phyllis was a 1950 graduate of Wilmington High School, where she was the football team's first cheerleader.  She worked as a waitress for 37 years in Wilmington, and her service to patrons over the years included employment with the Island Restaurant, Maggie's, and Sunrise Café prior to her retirement.  Phyllis was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Wilmington, and in her free time she enjoyed working crossword puzzles.
Survivors include three children: Deborah (Gary) Cummins of Ottawa, David (Jayme) Cook of Marseilles, and Kathy (Randy) Daniels of Wilmington; six grandchildren: Lee (Angie) Freese, Marc (Jenny) Cummins, Ryan (Staci) Cook, Erica (Rod) Dale, Glennden (Sara) Daniels, and Katrina Daniels; nine great-grandchildren: Kaity, Mary, Evan, Taylor, Rylee, Clarissa, Drezden, Ali, and Drew; two brothers: Don (Rosemary) Cupples of Wilmington and Dale (Barb) Cupples of Piper City, Illinois; as well as four sisters: Carol Mardis of Dodge City, Kansas, Jean Petersen of Wilmington, Janet (Fred) Cooper of Wilmington, and Sharon Cottingham of Streator.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, as well as one sister Marilyn Proffit.
Visitation will be held on Friday March 21, 2014 between the hours of 4:00PM and 8:00PM at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 E. Kahler Road in Wilmington. Funeral services will follow Saturday March 22nd at 1:00PM in the funeral home with Rev. Chris Beamsley from Grace Lutheran Church officiating.
Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Wilmington.

Pallbearers wil be Lee Freese, Marc Cummins, Glennden Daniels, Kyle Skoryi, Ryan Cook and Rodney Dale.
Preferred memorial may be made as gifts in Phyllis' memory to the Wilmington School District Foundation for Excellence, 209 Wildcat Drive, Wilmington, Illinois 60481.
