Peter Olivetti, Jr.
Age 81 of Wilmington, passed away peacefully Friday September 21, 2012 at Miller Rehabilitation Center in Kankakee.
Born August 15, 1931 in South Wilmington, Peter was a son of the late Peter, Sr. and Anna Springhetti-Olivetti. He was a veteran of the United States Army and honorably served during peacetime in Germany. Pete worked at the Paper Mill in Wilmington, prior to gaining employment with Commonwealth Edison, from where he retired. He was a member of Saint Rose Catholic Church in Wilmington.
Survivors include two daughters: Megan (Tim) Goolsby and Moira Olivetti, both of Joliet; seven step-children: Sherry Gardner of Oregon, Noelle Mayer of Naperville, Carol (Paul) Frestel of Frankfort, Susan Schnuckel of Wilmington, Roberta Gardner of Munster, Indiana, James Gardner of Florida and Mia Amato of Wilmington; one grandson Ethan Goolsby, and one sister Judy (the late Don) Wesoloski of Kankakee, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Peter was preceded in death by his parents; wife Margaret Pearl "Marge" Olivetti; three sisters and four brothers.
The family will receive friends at Saint Rose Catholic Church, 624 South Kankakee Street in Wilmington on Saturday September 29, 2012 from 9:00AM until time of funeral service 10:00AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Reverend Steve Bondi and Deacon Don Dyer officiating. Inurnment will follow on Tuesday October 9, 2012 in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, where Pete will be laid to rest with his wife Marge.
