Perry S. Brooks

Perry S. Brooks, 78, of Bolingbrook, formerly of Morris, passed away Sunday, July 23, 2023 at Northwestern Hospital in Chicago.
Born December 17, 1944 in Morris, he was the son of Clyde and Beverly (Peterson) Brooks. He graduated from Morris Community High School, JJC, Chicago Technical Institute and Greer Technical Logical Institute. Perry married Janice Smith on May 15, 1965. For most of their married life they lived in Morris and moved to Bolingbrook in 1993.
He is survived by his son, Ed Brooks and husband, Jerry Velasquez of San Francisco, CA; his brother, Colin Brooks of Douglasville, Ga; his special friend, Emy Trotz of Bolingbrook; His pet parrot, “Ashbury”.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his loving wife, Janice in 2004; three brothers, Kenny, Larry and Doug Brooks.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 1024.
Perry was an avid golfer and enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 28, 2023 at 10:30 A.M.at Fruland Funeral Home, 121 W. Jefferson St. in Morris with Pastor Steve Larson officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday at the funeral home from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M.
