Peggy Johnson

Age 78 of Wilmington, Illinois, died peacefully on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at her daughter's home in Joliet, Illinois.

Survivors include her three children: Ellen (Ken) Sims of Joliet, Richard (Kim) Johnson of Wilmington, and Jody (Tonyia) Johnson of Homosassa, Florida; nine grandchildren: Vanessa (James) Cross, Morgan (Bonafacio) Sandoval, Emma Johnson, Riley Johnson, Luke Johnson, Heather (Chris) Mays, Heidi Johnson (fiance: David George), Cody (Rebecah) Johnson, and Jeremiah Johnson; twenty-five great grandchildren: Maximus, Eveangeline, Bethel, Hannah, Gracie, Genesis, Eden, Westin, Madelyn, Jackson, Benjamin, Chevelle, Jameson, Lincoln, Shelby, Oliver, Noah, Theodore, Mariana, Allyssa, Tony, Charlotte, Thomas, Lynnlee, and Ada.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Virginia (Reeves) Fial; her husband, Richard "Sonny" Nation; and one brother, Alfred Fial.

Per Peggy's wishes, cremation rites are being accorded.

Funeral services will be at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 604 South Kankakee Street, in Wilmington on Monday, April 7, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Reverend Sebastian Gargol and assisted by Deacon Jay Plese.

Inurnment will follow the funeral mass at All Saints Catholic Cemetery in Bourbonnais, Illinois.
