Pauline Riley
Age 81, of Elkhart, Indiana passed away Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at her residence. Pauline was born on May 9, 1933 to Jerald D. and Mary Lou (Black) Heggie in Southside, TN. On March 8, 1952 she married James W. Riley. He preceded her in death in 2009.
Pauline worked for Wilts Food and K-Mart, and was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church and the Heaton Lake Conservation Club. She enjoyed her cats, Facebook, feeding the birds, fishing, gambling and spending time with family and friends. Pauline is survived by daughters: Kathy Gehring (Ron) of Pleasanton, CA, Karen Vaden (Len) of Dublin, CA and Jamie Lillard (George) of Elkhart, IN; one son William J. Riley (Kelly) of Elkhart, IN; grandchildren: Scott and Sarah Gehring and Troy and Victoria Vaden; 1 great-grandchild Norah Vaden; sister, Patricia Pritchard of Wilmington; brothers: Bill Heggie of Clarksville, TN and Jerald Heggie of La Verne, CA.
She was preceded in death by her husband; one son Michael, sisters: Agnes Minton and Shirley Reardanz and brothers: Bob and Bud Heggie.
Friends called from 4 to 6 p.m., on Monday, August 25, 2014 at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home, 403 W. Franklin Street, Elkhart, IN, and again on Tuesday August 26th from 10 a.m. until time of 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Rose Catholic Church, 604 S. Main St. in Wilmington. Burial followed in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Wilmington.
Memorial contributions may be made to Wildlife Rehabilitator, Waterbirds at the Kuhl Spot, Salvation Army, and Center for Hospice Care.
