Age 83 of Morris and a resident of Elliott Manor for many years, passed away Wednesday January 16, 2008 at Morris Hospital.

Born April 08, 1924 in Morris, Pauline was a daughter of the late Roy and Dorothy (Patton) Uerkwitz. She was raised and educated in Morris was a graduate of Morris High School with Class of 1942. Pauline worked for the Seneca Ship Yard during the war and later was employed by Self Locking Carton Company, Sponge Cushion and the Richard Abel Company in Zion, Illinois prior to retiring. She was a member of the Morris V.F.W. Auxiliary and enjoyed bowling, having belonged to numerous leagues over the years. Pauline enjoyed music, reading and working puzzles and was known to be a people person who loved family gatherings.

Survivors include her daughter Lee Ann Uerkwitz of Wimberley, Texas; one sister Virginia (Harry) Wollgast of Morris and two brothers: John Uerkwitz of Morris and Robert E. (Ada) Uerkwitz of Nevada, Missouri. One aunt Gladys Sohan of Morris and nieces and nephews: Sandra Lichner, Diana (Dana) Hillman, Deborah (Richard "Doc" Christensen) Raymond, David (Debbie) Wollgast, Robert Uerkwitz, Thomas Uerkwitz, Lisa (Lou) Orzech, Deborah Pettengill and Patricia Kennedy, as well as numerous cousins and friends, including her very close circle of friends of many years.

Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Donald Uerkwitz, one nephew Donald Uerkwitz and her sister-in-law Elizabeth Uerkwitz.

Cremation rites have been accorded per Pauline's wishes, and a private family inurnment was held in Mount Carmel Cemetery in Morris.

A Celebration of Pauline's Life will be held on Saturday January 19, 2008 between the hours of 2:00PM and 4:00PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 408 East Washington Street (one block East of Illinois Route 47) in Morris.

Preferred memorials in lieu of flowers may be made as gifts in Pauline's memory to We Care of Grundy County, 520 W. Illinois Avenue, Morris, Illinois 60450.
