Paul J. Everts
Age 80 of Diamond and formerly of Lockport, passed away Wednesday May 23, 2012 at Morris Hospital.
Born July 7, 1931 in Coal City, Paul is a son of the late Paul and Bess Swartz-Everts. He was raised and educated in Coal City, was a 1949 graduate of Coal City High School, and honorably served his country in the United States Air Force. On August 25, 1951 Paul married the love of his life Ruth Drnec in Coal City. He was employed by Reynolds Metals in McCook, Illinois as a supervisor, retiring in 1988. Paul was a member of New Hope Presbyterian Church in Coal City and was a member of the A.F.& A.M. Braidwood Lodge. In Paul's free time, he enjoyed the outdoors, and will be remembered as an avid fisherman and hunter who cherished the time spent with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years: Ruth; children: Nanci (Tom) Weideman of Hoover, Alabama, Paul (Nancy) Everts of Channahon and Janice (James) Corpus of Peoria; grandchildren: Cara (Ara) Dombourian, Lynn Weideman, Bradley Weideman, Christa Everts, Jeffrey Everts, Audrey Everts, Daniel (Stefani) Corpus and Keith Corpus; great grandchildren: Lily and Emma Dombourian and Grayson Corpus; brothers: Robert (Arlene) Everts of Mokena and Jerry Everts of Blue Island; sister-in-law: Jane (Frank) Anselmo of Coal City and mother-in-law: Hazel Drnec, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law: James Drnec.
The family will recieve friends on Friday May 25th from 9:00AM until time of memorial service 10:00AM at New Hope Presbyterian Church, 80 North Garfield Street at First Street in Coal City. Reverend Nate Manzo will officiate and inurnment will follow in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood at 12:00 Noon. A memorial luncheon will then be hosted at New Hope Presbyterian Church following the cemetery services.
Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Paul's memory to New Hope Presbyterian Church, 80 North Garfield Street, Coal City, Illinois 60416 or to a charity of the donor's choosing.
