Paul E. Deming
Age 69 of Wilmington, passed away peacefully March 14, 2012, lovingly surrounded by family.
Born May 13, 1942 in Makanda, Illinois, Paul was a son of the late Cyrus Newton and Bessie Angeline Furlow-Deming. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served from 1961-1963. Paul moved to Wilmington from Carbondale in 1966 and was previously employed by the Joliet Army Ammunition Plant. He is retired from Reichhold Chemical in Morris, Illinois.
Paul was a loyal and compassionate man who was loved by so many and will be dearly missed. He struggled with illness for years and can now rest.
Survivors include two children: Dwayne Deming and Teresa (Virgil) Fisher, both of Wilmington; two grandchildren: Jacob and Meghan Fisher, whom he adored so much; his special friend and constant companion Jane Ashcraft of Wilmington; two sisters: Verna Deming of Norris City, Illinois and Marie Veath of Franklin, Tennessee and one brother Roy (Joyce) Deming of Murphysboro, Illinois, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents Cyrus and Bessie Deming of DeSoto, Illinois and one sister Mildred Tripp of Pomona, Illinois.
Visitation will be held on Sunday March 18, 2012 from 12:00 Noon until time of funeral service 2:00PM at Freitag-Reeves & Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road in Wilmington. (815/476-2181). Pastor Caleb Counterman will officiate and burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Wilmington. Full Military Honors will be conducted by the Wilmington VFW Color Guard.
Preferred memorials in lieu of flowers may be made as gifts in Paul's memory to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312 (www.diabetes.org)
