Patrick R. McCarron

Age 57 of Newark, DE passed away suddenly on Saturday, August 31, 2013.

Born in Wilmington on April 14, 1956, Patrick was a graduate of Christiana High School, class of 1974 and a graduate of the University of Delaware, class of 1978. He embarked on a career in the United States Army and retired in 1999 after 20 years of dedicated service. During his time in the military, he earned a Master's Degree in criminal justice. Patrick resided in Chicago, IL from 1999 until returning home to Delaware in 2009. During this time, he was employed with the Internal Revenue Service and currently with the United States Office of Personnel Management.

His wife of 25 years, Odessa (Whigham) McCarron, passed away on May 29, 2008.

Patrick will be lovingly remembered by his parents, Robert and Eileen (Reynolds) McCarron; his sisters, Kathleen Cannon and husband, Patrick, Maureen McCarron and Mary Wilson and husband, Devereaux; and 4 nieces.

The family will receive friends on Thursday September 12, 2013 from 9:30AM until 10:30AM at Freitag-Reeves & Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road in Wilmington. Burial with military honors will follow in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood at 11:30AM. Deacon Don Dyer from Saint Rose Catholic Church in Wilmington will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Patrick may be made to Holy Family Church, 15 Gender Road, Newark, DE 19713.
