Patrick L. Carbray
Age 58 of Aurora passed away unexpectedly Saturday October 11, 2014 at his home.
Born June 27, 1956 in Chicago, Patrick was a son of the late Robert and Gertrude (nee Holmes) Carbray. He was raised and educated on the south side of Chicago, where he attended Saint Rita High School. Patrick went on to serve in the United States Navy, earning the National Defense Service Medal for his service to his country. On July 18, 1987, he married Laura Borovicka in Darien, Illinois. Patrick was a member of Calvary Church in Naperville, and will be remembered for his passion for sports. He was especially a fan of the Chicago Bears and Blackhawks, and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
Survivors include his wife of 27 years Laura; three children: Ryan, Casey and Caroline Carbray; two brothers: Michael and John Carbray, both of Arizona; sister-in-law: Barbara Carbray of Missouri, and several nieces and nephews.
Patrick was preceded in death by his parents and brother Robert Carbray.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday October 22, 2014 at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road in Wilmington, from 4:00 PM until the time of memorial service at 7:00 PM. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services, and Patrick will be buried with full military honors on Thursday October 23, 2014 in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood at 11:00 AM. Those attending the burial are encouraged to meet at Baskerville Funeral Home at 10:15 AM to depart in procession to the cemetery at 10:30 AM.
Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Patrick's memory to the Wounded Warriors Project, 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300, Jacksonville, Florida 32256.
