Patricia Anne Matthews (Giordano) was called to sit with Jesus on Monday, November 24th, 2008 at her home. "Patt" died peacefully in her sleep of natural causes at the age of 75 years.

Patt was born on September 25, 1933 in Morris, Illinois to Dom and Jo Giordano. She was raised in Coal City, attended Coal City schools, and lived her entire life in Coal City.

On October 18th, 1953 Patt married the love of her life, Nelson Matthews and together they raised two daughters: Sue (Greg) Sorge of Waukesha, WI and Jen (Trish) Matthews of Denver, CO.

Patt is survived by her daughters; two brothers: Jim (Bev) Giordano and Dale Giordano and three sisters-in-law: Darlene "Bitz" Giordano, Margaret "Pat" (Joe) Phillips and Marijane (Jack) Baudino.

"Grandma Patt" is also survived by and will be very deeply missed by her four special grandchildren: Monika, Matt, Kelli, and Ben Sorge. She was always so proud of them!

Also surviving are numerous relatives and friends; especially her "special" friends: Geri, Kay and Sandy. Thanks for driving!

Patt was preceded in death by her parents; husband Nelson on December 07, 2004; brother Bud Girodano and other relatives and friends.

Visitation and Video Tribute will held on Friday, November 28th, 2008 from 2:00PM until 4:00PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block North of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City.

Patt always loved sharing a cup of coffee with everyone! In her memory, please join us for a cup of coffee and cookies at the funeral home during the visitation.

As per Patt's wishes, she will be cremated and placed next to Nelson so they can rest together forever.

Graveside Services will follow on Monday December 01, 2008 at 1:00 pm in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood. Friends and family who wish to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery Welcome Center by 12:45PM.

No flowers please. Plant some flowers in her memory in the Spring. She would have really liked that.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Patt's memory to the Coal City Public Library, 85 North Garfield Street, Coal City, Illinois 60416.

No more doctors and no more pills Mom! You are finally well and healed. Save me a seat in heaven! I will miss you!
