Ora "Blanche" Kay
(nee McCaslin)
Age 81 of Wilmington, passed away Monday, June 28, 2010 at her home.
Born May 4, 1929 in Ramsey, Illinois, Blanche was a daughter of the late Ora and Elsie Carlock-McCaslin. she was raised and educated in a country school in Ramsey and married Kenneth Leroy Kay who preceded her in death on February 22, 1999. Blanche worked for the Illinois Department of Corrections in Pontiac as a guard until her retirement. She enjoyed gardening, flowers and mostly of all taking care of her grandkids.
Survivors include her daughter Belinda Kay of Wilmington; one grandchild: Michael Kent Kay of Wilmington; one brother: Bill (Imogene) McCaslin of Alvarado, Texas; five sisters: Eva Saunders of Ramsey, Caroline Kay of Pana, Illinois, Velma Rhodes of Wilmington, Dorothy Waldron of Essex and Angie (Charles) Carr of Wilmington, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Blanche was preceded in death by parents; husband Kenneth; one grandson Kyle Kay and one brother: Reynold Eller.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 2, 2010 from 11:00am until time of funeral services 1:00pm at Reeves Funeral Home, 219 North Joliet Street, (one block North of Illinois Route 53/Baltimore Street) in Wilmington. Reverend Angie Carr will officiate and burial will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.
