Olis Kilgore

Age 84 of Morris, passed away Tuesday February 13, 2007 at Walnut Grove Rehabilitation Center in Morris.

Born July 25, 1922 in Chilton County, Alabama, Olis was a daughter of the late Enoch and Martha (Collins) Davenport. She was the youngest of twelve children. Olis came to Morris in 1954 and worked at the Grundy County Nursing Home and later at the Morris Hospital as a Nurses Aid. In June of 1955 she married Ross Knapp of Morris who preceded her in death in January 1975. In November of 1976 she then married William E. Kilgore of Mazon and together they lived in Morris several years before he passed away on October 31, 1991. Olis was a member of Calvary Baptist Church for many years.

Survivors include two children: Mrs. Glenda (Smith) Wendell and Glenn (Sherri) Smith, both of Alabama by a previous marriage; six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

Olis was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands: Ross Knapp and William Kilgore and eleven brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be held on Saturday February 17, 2007 from 12:00 Noon until time of funeral services 2:00PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 408 East Washington Street (two blocks East of Illinois Route 47) in Morris. Pastor Brad Blissett will officiate and burial will follow in Sample Cemetery.
