Norman Douglas Foster
"Roger"
Age 76 of Kinsman, passed away Sunday June 2, 2013 at Morris Hospital.
Born May 11, 1937 in Morris, Norman was the son of the late Herbert and Lillian Worthey-Foster. He was raised and educated in Morris and went onto honorably serve in the United States Army. Roger was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Kinsman and worked as a boiler operator, retiring from the Community Hospital of Ottawa. He was a great NASCAR enthusiast and enjoyed listening to music and caring for his dog Lucy. Roger will also be remembered for the cherished time spent with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years Anne (nee Miller); nine children: Michael (Tina) Foster of Morris, Mark (Joan) Foster of Mazon, Shawn (Andrea) Foster of Ottawa, Matthew (Jamie) Foster of Dwight, Steven Foster of Chicago, David (Lisa) Foster of Troy, Angela Teague and Lynn (Jeff) McGhee, both of Morris and Melissa Foster of Kinsman; (20) grandchildren: Trisha (Jon) McClain of Albuquerque, NM, Joshua Foster of San Francisco, CA, Jacob Foster of Morris, Breanna Foster of Mazon, April Strothman and Dustin Strothman, both of Ottawa, Adam Christoff of Clinton, IA, Savannah Foster and Raymond Foster, both of Ottawa, Sara Butterbrodt of Odell, Bethany Foster, Corey Foster and Callie Foster, all of Dwight, Kristofer Foster, Abigail Foster, Emily Foster, Aaron Foster and Elizabeth Foster, all of Troy and Hannah McGhee and Hayden McGhee, both of Morris, and three great grandchildren: Kaley McClain, Ethan McClain and Mavryck Strothman.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents; two sons: Christopher in infancy and Daniel (1983); one granddaughter Maryanne Foster in infancy and one son-in-law: Gary Teague.
Visitation and Video Tribute will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 219 Emmett Street in Kinsman on Tuesday June 4, 2013 between the hours of 4:00PM and 7:00PM and again Wednesday June 5th from 9:00AM until time of funeral service 10:00AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Reverend John Hornicak officiating.
Burial will be in Saint Patrick Cemetery, Ransom. Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be Roger's sons and grandsons.
Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Roger's memory to MVK Ambulance, 606 Front Street, Mazon, Illinois 60444.
