Norma Pszczola

Age 100 of Wilmington, Illinois, formerly of Lyons, Illinois, died peacefully on Friday, August 2, 2024 at her home.

Born February 18, 1924 in Chicago, Illinois, Norma Linnea was a daughter of William and Irene (Fenske) Niemand. She was raised and educated in Lyons, and married Casimir Pszczola. Norma lived for a time in Los Angeles, California and Texas, before settling in Lyons. She worked for Kroger Grocery Store and as a secretary for Dr. Robert Novak’s office in Lyons. Norma was active in her community, volunteering with Ladies Aid, Meals on Wheels, and the Lyons Mustangs Athletic Club. She was an Auxillary for the American Legion Post 227 in Lyons, where she was Treasurer, and was a faithful member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Lyons. She enjoyed bowling and was a gifted crafter and baker. More than anything, it was family that was the center of Norma’s world. She was blessed to see five generations in her lifetime and treasured every moment spent with her family.

Survivors include her daughter, Judith (the late Keith) Michael of Wilmington; four granddaughters: Michele (Tim) Lantvit of Bolingbrook, Illinois, Pamela (Richard) Tworek of Wilmington, and Sheri (Brandon) Evans and Colleen (Rob) Henderson, both of Plainfield, Illinois; twelve great grandchildren: Nicholas Capozziello, Tyler (Elissa) Lantvit, Christopher (Alyssa) Tworek, Morgan (Nick) Lantvit, Madyson Lantvit, Nathan Tworek, Sydney Henderson, Ethan Evans, Payton Henderson, Nora Evans, Lucy Evans, and Tori Henderson; six great-great grandchildren: Alivia Capozziello, Sylvia Capozziello, Theo Ehlen, Savana Ehlen, Preston Henderson, and Hudson Henderson; as well as several great and great-great step grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents and her husband; one son, Ray (Stefa) Pszczola, one brother, Arnold (Doris) Niemand, and one sister, Thelma (Bill) Machacek.

A visitation will be at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road, in Wilmington, on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

The family will again receive friends at St. John's United Church of Christ, 4500 Prescott Avenue, in Lyons on Thursday, August 8, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 12:00 p.m.

Norma will be laid to rest at Chapel Hill - West  Cemetery in Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois.
