Norma "Ruth" Pfister

Of Crest Hill and formerly Wilmington and Coal City, passed away Sunday, June 20, 2010 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home in Joliet.

Born April 21, 1917 in Hillview, Illinois, Ruth was raised and educated in Hillview and in February of 1934 married Robert Pfister at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Harrisburg, Illinois. Ruth was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Crest Hill.

Survivors include her two children: Robert A. Pfister of Chandler, Texas and Rita (Jerry) Barham of Coal City; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Robert in 1989; three sisters: JoAnn Martin, Virginia Turner and Frances Gustafson and one brother: Chester Turner.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 from 12:00pm until 1:15pm at Reeves Funeral Home, 219 North Joliet Street (two blocks North of IL Route 53 / Baltimore Street) in Wilmington.

Funeral Services will follow at 1:30pm in Saint Rose Catholic Church in Wilmington, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Reverend Steve Bondi officiating.

Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Wilmington.

Preferred memorials in lieu of flowers may be made as gifts in Ruth's memory to Joliet Area Community Hospice, 250 Water Stone Circle, Joliet, Illinois 60431.
