Noah Nathaniel Yates

Age 33 of Gardner, Illinois and formerly of Manteno and Braidwood, Illinois, passed away unexpectedly and was received into the arms of Jesus our Lord and Savior. Noah was a Christian and loved the Lord with all his heart

Born December 18, 1991, in Joliet, Illinois, Noah is a son of Larry and Jean (Janulis) Yates of Springville, Tennessee. He spent his early years in Braidwood, where he attended Reed Custer Schools and played football, before moving to Manteno where he received various accolades being a part of the Manteno High School football team; was on the Track Team and was elected 2010 Senior Prom King prior to his graduation.

Noah was a dedicated diesel mechanic, currently employed with Con Global at the Intermodal in Elwood, Illinois. He was a proud member of the Local #150 Operating Engineers; was actively involved in his community through the Braidwood Recreation Club, which was one of his favorite places where he had a great love of fishing, and was a member of the First Christian Church in Wilmington.

A gifted artist, Noah expressed himself through drawing and painting, often bringing beauty and meaning to those around him through his work. His creativity extended into music—he was a talented pianist, guitarist, and drummer. He shared his love of music by playing in the praise band at his church, where his presence and passion uplifted many.

Noah also had a great love for gaming, a hobby through which he connected with friends and found joy in storytelling and strategy. Noah was very charismatic, caring and compassionate, and loved making people laugh. He was loved by all, and his memory will be cherished by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Survivors include his parents, Larry and Jean Yates; siblings: Brandon Yates, Kristina Demere and Tara Yates; niece Jeanette Demere; paternal grandmother, Lorna Zemar (Jim Zemar), and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Noah was preceded in death by his grandparents: Charles, Sr. and Marian Janulis; Larry Yates, Sr. and step grandpa Robert Maier Sr,; uncle Rob Maier, Jr. and cousins Jennefir Weir and Mike Flores, as well as his beloved dog, Rigby.
