Nancy J. Marquardt

Age 77 of Frankfort and formerly of Orland Park and Wilmington Shadow Lakes, passed away Monday evening, April 24, 2017 at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox.

Born July 15, 1939 in Evergreen Park, Nancy Jean was a daughter of the late Charles and Viola (Ballou) Bombard. She was raised and educated in Mt. Greenwood, and on April 11, 1959, Nancy married Raymond Carl Marquardt in Salem Lutheran Church in Blue Island. She was a long time member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Orland Park, and enjoyed the outdoors. Nancy will most be remembered for her love of spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include four children: Kimberly (Harold) Solley and Judith (Ronald) Brown, both of Braidwood, Ray (Linda) Marquardt of Mokena and Brent (Michelle) Marquardt of Manhattan; ten grandchildren: David James "D.J." (Danielle) Slager, Amiejean Slager, Joseph (Kellie) Brown, Timothy Brown, Matthew Brown, Jason Marquardt, Shane Marquardt, Will Marquardt, Molly Marquardt and Meredith Marquardt; five great grandchildren: Ethan Slager, Carter Slager, Damien Andrade, Sadie Andrade and Reese Marie Brown; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: George (Eileen) McElligott, Elizabeth (the late Norman) Marquardt and Carol (Robert) Landgraf, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; husband Raymond Carl on September 14, 2009 and one sister Harriet McElligott.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 27, 2017 between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road in Wilmington.

Nancy will then lie in state on Friday morning, April 28, 2017 at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, 14700 S. 94th Avenue in Orland Park from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service 11:00 a.m. Reverend Raymond Rohlfs will officiate.

Burial will be in Christ Lutheran Cemetery in Orland Park, where Nancy will be laid to rest with her late husband Ray. Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be Nancy's grandchildren: David James "D.J." Slager, Amiejean Slager, Joseph Brown, Timothy Brown, Matthew Brown, Jason Marquardt, Shane Marquardt, Will Marquardt, Molly Marquardt and Meredith Marquardt.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Nancy's memory to Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church Music Fund or Home Welfare Fund.
