Nadine Duay

Age 85 of Morris, passed away Monday evening March 10, 2014 at Park Pointe Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Morris.

Born June 29, 1928 in Hamilton County, Illinois, Nadine was a daughter of the late William H. and Julia Harrelson-Mitchell. She was raised in Southern Illinois and graduated from McLeansboro High School with the Class of 1947. Nadine moved to Morris in 1970 and in November of 1974, she married Louis Duay, who preceded her in 1995. Nadine worked for AT&T as a telephone operator until her retirement in 1988. She loved to read, quilt and sew, and leaves behind many heirloom quilts and doll clothes, in which she hand made. Nadine took great pleasure in traveling after retirement, and visited more than a dozen countries.

Survivors include three children: Sherry (Paul) McIntosh of Verona, Rex Campbell of Morris and Donita (Dan) Marciniec of Roscoe, Illinois; three step-children: Louis (Nancy) Duay, III of Shorewood and Lee (Diane) Duay and Linda Duay, both of Arizona; ten grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; three brothers; one sister, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Nadine was preceded in death by her parents; husband Louis, the father of her children Hershel Campbell; step-son Leo Duay; two brothers and one sister.

Cremation rites have been accorded and a memorial service with inurnment in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Dwight is being planned for a later date.
