Mildred Jean Ryan
Age 88 of Wilmington passed away peacefully, Wednesday evening, March 30, 2016 at her home.
Born May 10, 1927 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Mildred Jean was the daughter of the late Guy and Arlie Bell (Humble) Raymond. She moved with her family to Wilmington at the age of one, where she was then raised and educated. Jean married Paul Ryan in Champaign, Illinois and together they made their home in Wilmington. She worked at the Soldiers Widows Home as an attendant, and will be remembered for her love of shopping and dancing.
Survivors include one niece; one nephew; her sister-in-law: Ruth Whyde; and several great and great-great nieces and nephews, as well as her dear friend and neighbor.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband Paul (2002) and two brothers: James Raymond Whyde and Ronald Whyde.
Visitation will be held on Saturday April 2, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. until time of service, 10:00 a.m. at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road, in Wilmington.
Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Mausoleum where Mildred will be laid to rest with her husband Paul.
