Mrs. Robert (Mildred) Stansberry, Sr.

Age 87 of Morris, passed away Monday December 27, 2010 at her home.

Born November 08, 1923 in Centerville, Iowa, Mildred was a daughter of the late George B. and Goldie Irvin-Myers. On March 15, 1947, Mildred married Robert T. Stansberry in Des Moines, Iowa and she worked as a bookkeeper for Narvick Brothers in Morris from 1969 until her retirement in 1985. Mildred was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Morris, where she was involved with the Presbyterian Women's Circle and also held a membership with the Eastern Star. Mildred loved to crochet and can be remembered for her snowflake Christmas ornaments, as well as the afghans she made for her family, which will remain family heirlooms.

Survivors include her loving husband of 63 years: Robert T. Stansberry, Sr.; four children: Robert T. (Ann) Stansberry, Jr. of Morris, Rose (Mike) Gonnam of Mazon and Kathryn (John) Kleinfeldt and Nora (Doug Lyons) Stansberry, both of Morris; eleven grandchildren: Carrie (Mark) Dumas, Rebecca (Scott) Hallaron, Robert T. Stansberry, III, Patty (Johnnie) Aardsma, Crissy (Dave) Prasczewicz, David (Nicole Hall) Kenney, Michael Gonnam, Jonathon (Rebecca Walsh) Kleinfeldt, Sarah (Eric) Fisher, Amie (Scott) Ator and Joshua (Jackie) Brookman; fifteen great grandchildren: Alex, Derek, Jacob, Maxwell, Octavio, Logan, Matthew, Devon, Keegan, Molly, Andrew, Austin, Cameron, James and Zachary and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers: Kenneth and Mid Myers and one sister Lelah Hyde.

The family will receive friends on Thursday December 30, 2010 from 9:00AM until time of funeral service 11:00AM at The First Presbyterian Church, 200 East Jackson Street in Morris. Reverend Dr. Roy Backus will officiate and burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Morris.

Pallbearers will be: Robert T. Stansberry, III, David Kenney, Michael Gonnam, Jonathan Kleinfeldt, Joshua Brookman and Alex Dumas.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Mildred's memory to First Presbyterian Church of Morris, 200 East Jackson Street, Morris, IL 60450 or Grundy Community Volunteer Hospice, 518 West Illinois Avenue, Morris, IL 60450
