Age 39 of Columbia, South Carolina, passed away unexpectedly Friday evening, May 13, 2016 at Morris Hospital.

Born April 18, 1977 in Chicago, to Amy Elizabeth Witchek and Michael Fulkerson. He was big brother to Sarah Witchek and Thomas (Leah) Rash. Michael was an avid guitar player and songwriter, whose music brought joy to anyone who heard it. He loved to cook and spend time with his family.

Michael is survived by his beloved family: mother and step-father Amy and Skeeter Witchek-Willis; sister Sarah Witchek; brother Thomas (Leah) Rash; his son Michael Jacob Zacharias; aunts: Fran Witchek, Susan (Patrick) Sweeney, Maria (Ron) Combs, and Julie Witchek; uncles: Thomas (Marie) Witchek and Michael (Kris) Witchek; cousins: Jessica (Brandon) Keymon, Hillary (Mark) Ross, Peter Messina, Emily Witchek, Patrick Sweeney III, Skylar Curran, Ronald Combs III, Isabel Witchek and Spencer Witchek; his nieces: Josephine, MacKenna and Anabella “Grace”, and nephew Isaiah, as well as numerous second cousins: Micah, Socorro “Claire”, Hunter, Haylee, Halayna, Karma, Everleigh, Olivia and Christian. Additional loved ones include his great aunt and uncle: Claire and James Sindelar and cousins: Asha (Ramesh) Ganesan, Matthew Sindelar, Michelle (John) Rago, and Kris Bailleaux-Iwan.

Michael was preceded in death by his father Michael Fulkerson; maternal grandparents: Thomas Dale and Barbara (Schuh) Witchek; paternal grandparents: Ann Schoenbacher and William Fulkerson and great grandmother: “Nana” Ethel Agnes (Werbe) Witchek.

Visitation and video tribute will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 from 3:00 p.m. until time of funeral service 6:00 p.m. at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road in Wilmington. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Michael’s memory to his family for their distribution.
