Michael Sinchak, Jr.
Age 90 of Morris, passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at Park Pointe Healthcare.
Born June 11, 1925 in Joliet, Michael was a son of the late Michael and Anna (Bubnas) Sinchak. He was raised and educated in Joliet and went on to honorably serve in the United States Navy. “Iron Mike” was a retired Iron Worker with Local #444, and over the years worked at Station 9, on the iron bridges over the Illinois River and at Collins Station. He will be remembered for his enjoyment of fishing.
Survivors include one brother Raymond Sinchak of Joliet and one sister Irene Schomer of Lisle, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers: Andrew, John, Joe and George and six sisters: Lou, Marge, Liz, Anna, Mary and Helen.
Visitation will be held Tuesday June 23, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. until time of funeral service 11:00 a.m. at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road in Wilmington. Reverend Steve Bondi from St. Rose Catholic Church in Wilmington will officiate. Burial with full military honors will follow in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood.
Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Mike’s memory to a charity of the donor’s choosing.
