Mike Hannum
Age 67 of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas and formerly Wilmington, passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2012.
Born May 10, 1945 in Joliet, Mike was a son of the late Jasper Otto Hannum and Agnes Warren Hannum. He was a graduate of Wilmington High School with the Class of 1963 and worked for Caterpillar Inc. for 30 years in the USA and abroad. Mike was also an advanced EMT and fireman in Wilmington. He had a passion for hard work and always encouraged a strong work ethic in family and friends. His love for nature led him into many outdoor activities including yard work, boating, camping, golfing, motorcycle riding, horseback riding and woodworking. Mike was a member of the Free Masons and Wilmington Moose Lodge. His outgoing and friendly nature never allowed him to meet a stranger. Mike was dearly loved and will be deeply missed.
Mike is survived by his wife, Fran Hannum of Hot Springs Village; children, Mickey Hannum (Sheri) of Wake Forest, North Carolina, Tracey Brownlee (Jack) of Wilmington and Don Hinchliffe (Ying) of Phoenix, Arizona; sister, Phyllis Haldorson of Wilmington; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jackie and Donnie Hannum; and brother-in-law, John Haldorson.
Visitation and Video Tribute will be held on Monday September 24, 2012 from 4:00PM until time of Masonic Services 7:00PM at Freitag-Reeves & Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road in Wilmington. (815/476-2181)
Burial will follow Tuesday morning, September 25th in Wesley Cemetery. Family and friends wishing to attend the graveside committal, may gather at the funeral home at 9:30AM for procession to leave at 10:00AM.
