Melisa Ann Lerfald

Age 35 of Braidwood, passed away Friday May 24, 2013 at The University of Chicago Medical Center in Chicago.

Born January 6, 1978 in Joliet, Melisa is a daughter of Marilynn Luce-Lerfald and John Robert Lerfald, Jr. of Diamond. She was raised and educated in Braidwood and graduated from Reed Custer High School. Melisa was a member of the Will County Sportsman's Club Lake Will. She will be remembered for her love of kids and animals. Melisa was the heart of her family and truly appreciated life to the fullest.

Survivors include her parents John and Marilynn Lerfald of Diamond; fiancAC. Carlos Porter and two sons: Tylor Porter and Brendyn Porter all of Braidwood; three sisters: Angela (Dan) Bailey of Braidwood and Tammy (John) Fiedler and Janet Lerfald, both of Coal City; her paternal grandmother Dorothy Lerfald of Braidwood and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Melisa was preceded in death by her grandfathers and maternal grandmother.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday May 29, 2013 from 2:00PM until time of funeral service 4:00PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block North of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services.
