Maxine Sproull

Maxine L. Sproull

Age 85 of Verona, passed away Sunday August 29, 2010 at Embassy Care Center in Wilmington.

Born September 13, 1924 in Marseilles, Maxine was a daughter of the late Henry and Claira West-Peterson. She was a graduate of Marseilles High School, and on June 29, 1946 Maxine married William Sproull, who preceded her in death on December 4, 2004. She was employed by Verona Exchange Bank for 12 years and was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Seneca. She was an active volunteer at the Mazon American Legion and can be remembered for her love of working in her yard. Maxine was the spirit of true class, and beyond doubt, cherished her grandchildren and the time spent with them.

Survivors include her children: June (the late Robert) Krull of Mazon and Chuck Sproull of Verona; grandchildren: Matt (Caley) Krull and Andrew (Kelly) Krull, both of Mazon, Jacob Krull of Wilmington, James (Megan) Krull of Gardner, Christina (Chad) Terry of Seneca, Laurie (Stephen) Barry of Morris, Billy (Amy) Sproull of Mazon and Stephanie Sproull and John Sproull, both of Verona; (13) great grandchildren with another baby Krull on the way and numerous nieces and nephews, as well as special friend Robert.

Maxine was preceded in death by her parents; husband William and son-in-law Robert Krull.

Visitation and Video Tribute will be held on Wednesday September 1, 2010 between the hours of 4:00PM and 7:00PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block North of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City. Funeral Services will follow Thursday September 2nd at 10:00AM in the funeral home with Pastor Kris Ann Zierke from Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Seneca officiating.

Burial will be in Ward Cemetery and Maxine's grandson's will act as pallbearers.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Maxine's memory to the American Cancer Society.
