Maxine E. Sheedy, 98, of Morris, passed away early Saturday morning, December 19, 2020 at Park Pointe Healthcare and Rehab Center in Morris.
Born October 26, 1922 in Morris, she was the daughter of John and Hattie (Britt) Mitchell. She graduated from Morris High School with the class of 1940. Maxine married Willard Sheedy on October 24, 1945 at the First Presbyterian Church in Morris. They lived all of their married in Morris and spent the winter months in Port Charlotte, Florida. She was employed at Myrick’s Hatchery and later at Sklut’s Mens Wear in Morris.
She is survived by her daughter, Jill wood of Morris; two grandsons, Ryan (Julie) Florey of Morris and Darren Sheedy of Greenback, TN; two great granddaughters, Kayley (Thomas) McDonald and Courtneay (Luke) Kellam; two great, great granddaughters, Alli and Aubree McDonald; several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband in 2007; one son, Jeffrey in 1975; sister, Eunice Mitchell; brother, Leroy Mitchell.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
Maxine liked to travel, enjoyed watching football, loved her grand pets, Mia, Ringo and Jerry and spending time with her family.
Memorials may be given directly to Park Pointe Healthcare & Rehab Center or Joliet Area Community Hospice.
Private graveside services for the family will be held at a later date in Evergreen Cemetery.
